Q: How long has Cedars been operating in Qatar?

A: Cedars Trading & Contracting was founded in Doha in 2011. Since then, we have grown into one of Qatar’s established interior design and bespoke furniture companies, with completed projects across hospitality, residential, corporate, and retail sectors.

Q: What makes Cedars different from other furniture suppliers in Qatar?

A: Three things: everything is made-to-measure rather than imported off-the-shelf; design, manufacturing, and installation all happen under one roof, so quality and timelines stay under our control; and our craftsmen specialise in both contemporary work and traditional Arabic detailing — which is rarer than it sounds.

Q: Have you worked on hotel or hospitality projects in Qatar?

A: Yes. Our portfolio includes work for The St. Regis Doha, Marriott at NEOM’s Sindalah Island, and The Chedi Hotel. We are comfortable with the technical specifications, durability standards, and timelines that hospitality fit-outs require.

Custom Furniture

Q: What categories of custom furniture do you make?

A: We design and craft custom furniture across four main categories: dining (tables, chairs, sideboards, buffets), bedroom (beds, headboards, wardrobes, dressers), living room (sofas, armchairs, coffee tables, media units), and office furniture (desks, conference tables, executive seating, storage). All are built to your dimensions and finish specifications.

Q: Can I bring my own design or do you create it for me?

A: Both options work. You can supply finished drawings, reference photos, or rough sketches, and we will produce technical drawings and samples for approval. If you prefer, our design team will develop concepts from scratch based on your brief, space, and style preferences.

Q: What materials and finishes do you typically use?

A: We work with solid hardwoods, engineered timber, premium veneers, lacquered MDF, marble and stone tops, leather, and a wide range of upholstery fabrics. Finishes range from natural oil and matt lacquer to high-gloss, hand-distressed, and traditional Arabic detailing. Material samples are provided before production.

Q: What is Arabic Majlis making and do you specialise in it?

A: An Arabic Majlis is a traditional seating space used for hosting guests, typically with floor-level cushioned seating, ornate wood detailing, and decorative ceilings. Cedars specialises in authentic Majlis design — combining traditional craftsmanship with modern comfort, custom upholstery, and tailored joinery for villas, palaces, and hospitality venues across Qatar.

Q: What flooring options do you supply and install?

A: We supply and install premium wood flooring including engineered hardwood, solid timber, herringbone, chevron, and parquet patterns. Each floor is finished and sealed for Qatar’s climate, and we handle subfloor preparation, laying, finishing, and skirting as part of the service.

Q: Do you offer reupholstery for existing furniture?

A: Yes. Our upholstery workshop reupholsters sofas, armchairs, dining chairs, headboards, and Majlis seating using premium fabrics, leathers, and traditional hand-finishing techniques. We can match existing pieces, refresh them in a new fabric, or rebuild the internal structure if springs or padding are worn.

Process, Pricing & Delivery

Q: How does the design and ordering process work?

A: The process runs in five stages: a brief and site visit to understand the space and requirements; concept design with mood boards and 3D visuals where useful; quotation and material sign-off; manufacturing in our Qatar workshop with progress updates; and on-site delivery and installation. You approve the design, materials, and pricing before manufacturing begins.

Q: How much does a custom furniture or fit-out project cost?

A: Pricing varies with size, materials, and complexity, so we quote each project individually rather than publishing fixed price lists. Once you share your brief — dimensions, materials, finish level, and any reference images — we provide a detailed itemised quote so you can see exactly what is included before committing.
